"We open in what? Eight days? And here I am, still learning lines. "Pressure is a privilege," says Billie Jean King and there's a video clip that's been getting around the theater community recently in which Philip Seymour Hoffman reminds actors that it's a gift and an honor to be able to hone one's craft "in a room someone else has paid rent on." It certainly is the greatest joy to work on Alec's beautiful play with all these brave and hard-working people, to embrace the challenges this material presents me as a mother of young children, a wife, and "someone who creates things" as my character Kira dreams of doing. It has always been my dream to do this work and I am thankful for this opportunity with every beat of my (currently very anxious) heart."
